Question: How
many planets (Earth) does it take to support your lifestyle?
four (4) approximately
Directions:
1) Make an “Avatar” of
yourself
2) Answer using DETAILED
answers to each lifestyle question
Questions:
1) How often do you eat animal
based products?
occasionally (once or twice a week)
Why
do you think this affects your footprint? Explain.
As we eat animal products we're minimizing the number of those animals
2) How much of your food is processed,
packaged and not locally grown?
About half
Why
do you think this affects your footprint? Explain.
Processed food contains different chemicals and besides that the package they used more than half can't be recycled and is plastic so it even takes a lot of time to disappear form the earth surface.
3) How much trash
do you generate?
Appliances and clothes (very rarely-infrequently)
recycle (most of the time)
news paper ( online always)
trash amount ( somewhat less)
What
affects does this have on your footprint? Why?
the amount of trash we throw away has effect on the environment because it increases the amount of methane gas released to the environment, which has a negative effect on the environment.
4) Which housing
type best describes your home?
Multi story apartment building
Why
would this make a difference in your impact?
The types of houses are made of different materials also found in different ways. some are natural resources and some are made from trees which is a direct deforestation, increasing carbon emission
5) Do you have electricity
in your home?
yes
What
are the environmental impacts of electricity?
Explain.
Energy is generated form many different things, if it's form a coal it's acidic, if it's form hydro dams it affects water creatures, so as much us we're using it, something else is destroying.
6) How
many people are in your home?
5 people
7) What is your house made of?
wood
Which building material is the most energy efficient? Explain.
I'm not sure what it is but the one which can hold energy for a longer amount of time.
8) Does anyone of your home’s electricity
come from renewable sources? (SDGE=
no)
9) How far do you travel
by car each week?
1-50 miles
Do
you carpool or do anything to reduce your impact?
Yes, most of the time
10) Do you ride a motorcycle?
no
11) What is the gas
mileage in your car/motorbike?
I don't know
12) How often do you drive
with someone else?
Always
13) How far do you travel
by bus/train each week?
School bus (25-50 miles)
14) How many hours do you fly
each year?
0-4 hours
Fill
in the following things below:
How
many planets (Earth) are needed to provide enough resources to support people
if everyone lived like you? Draw the
Earths(pic no 1)
4.7earths are needed if everyone lived like me
Draw
your ecological footprint breakdown: (Color coordinate your graph)

How
many global acres would take to support your lifestyle? Draw the diagram
below.

Go
back and edit your footprint, and explore scenarios to reduce your
footprint
Edit
your Footprint by making CHANGES to your lifestyle.
List the changes you have made to your lifestyle below and the impact it
had on your ecological footprint. Show your new results.

Changes
Made:
1) turning into vegan
2)Generate much less trash in every possible way
3) none flying hours
4) decrease the mile age you travel with car
5) decrease the mile age you travel with buses
Impact
on my Ecological Footprint: (Draw out NEW results based on changes made)

Reflect
on what you learned by doing this activity:
After completing this activity I've learned that I should be more aware of what I eat, throw as a trash, how many miles I ride or drive. Paying attention to the little details of our everyday life does have a change on the environment so i'll try to pay more detail in my day to day life.
