Fossil Fuel Use Continues To Rise
By Daniel Cusick and ClimateWire
Fossil fuels
The article informs about the fact that fossil fuels are the major polluter of air and still they are going up not down. Coal natural gas and oil accounted for 87% of the world's primary energy which are all fossil fuels. coal fired electricity is also strong in much of developing world such as china, India, and parts of Europe. the only positive considered effect is that natural gas is seeing significant gains in some countries which includes U.S. The author also states Global natural gas consumption grew by 2.2 percent to 2,987 million tons of oil equivalent (mtoe) in 2012 -- more than triple the consumption recording in 1970, according to the report. The largest increases took place in the United States (27.6 mtoe), China (12.0 mtoe) and Japan (10.1 mtoe).
Fossil fuel consumption has a lot to do with the environment and us related to pollution because it's the main cause for most cases. With it being used in more than half almost all of the world it'll cause a really huge impact on our ocean and habitat and the air. when they're being polluted our ecosystem will not be normal and organisms will begin to die, which brings the effect to us after all.
If We continue to do burn and use fossil fuels or at least if we don't make an effort to decrease it the gases coming out from it such as carbon monoxide, sulfur oxide, nitrogen oxide, hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide, are harmful to our health like cancer and will cause different things for the environment such as acid rain, haze over populated cities, green house effect in general. So if we don't try to stop it now we will be the victims after all.
